SEALS XVI
The 16th Annual Meeting of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society

20-21 September 2006
Atma Jaya University, Jakarta, Indonesia

The deadline for submission of abstracts expired on 31 March 2006.

The abstracts and program are now online.

FEES AND REGISTRATION

Registration will be conducted at the conference location. We regret that we can only accept cash, in either IDR or USD. The fees have been simplified and reduced, and now consists of the following:

- Conference fee: IDR 75,000 (about $8; includes conference materials and refreshments twice a day)
- Conference dinner: IDR 75,000 (optional, but everyone is encouraged to attend)

HOW TO GET THERE

The conference will be held at Atma Jaya University, Yustinus Building, 14th Floor. The easiest way to get to Atma Jaya from anywhere in Jakarta is by taxi (unless you're coming from the Aston Hotel—then it's a 3-minute walk). We recommend using a Black Bird, Express, or any Blue Bird Group taxi. Tell the driver to take you to “Kampus Atma Jaya Semanggi”. For more detailed information and maps, please click here.

HANDOUTS/PAPERS

It is not necessary to bring a complete written version of your paper. If you use a handout, please note that we expect to have 30-40 participants at each parallel session. Papers to be included in the proceedings should be submitted to Uri Tadmor no later than 31 December 2006 in both MSWord and PDF formats. For the style sheet see here.”

ARRIVAL AT SOEKARNO HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, JAKARTA

Before departing, please be sure to read the special section regarding visas. After landing in Jakarta, consider using a porter; pay the equivalent of about $2. We recommend using a Silver Bird taxi; there is a Silver Bird taxi stand right outside the terminal. Fares are more expensive than with other taxis, but service is the most reliable.”
