Other comments: Yuhup or “Yahup Makú” (pej.) is spoken by approximately 720 speakers in Amazonas state: on the Apapóris, Castanha, Cunuri, Igarapé Samaúma, Ira, and Tiquié rivers, Brazil as well as Colombia. Yuhup or Yuhup Makú has a traditional counting system up to twenty by using hands / fingers and feet /toes. It can continue counting up to 100 by the same way. So 40 is 'bə̌ʔ ɟùhúp'; 60 is 'bòdɨ́ɡⁿ-wǎp ɟùhúp'; 80 is 'bàbᵐdí-wǎp ɟùhúp' and 100 is 'càhpóh ɟùhúp'. |
