Other comments: Yámana or Yaghan became extinct after the last fluent speaker, Cristina Calderón, died in 2022. There are 70 ethnic population in Magallanes region: Patagonia area, Navarino island, Puerto Williams, Ukika hamlet, Chile. Yámana numeral system is very simple. There are only three numbers, from one to three. After three they use wǽɽu or wáɽu. |
