Other comments: Mareke Yakkha language has only 1, 2, 3 in their own counting system. Rest of all as Nepali counting system. Mareke Yakkha also called Lumba Yakkha. But Lumba is not appropriate name. Among the five surnames of this language speakers areː Lumba, Tumba, Rogu, Pamphu and Tamli. The name is Lumba, it is not suitable name. The speakers also not agree with this name. Hansson (1992) gave that name of this language. The speakers of this language live in Jitpur (dzitpur), Yandrung (jandruŋ) and Marek Katahare (marek kʌʈʌɦʌre) of Dhankuta (dʰʌnkuʈa) district . It is an endangered language of Nepal with only 1200 speakers only. |
