Other comments: Vaiphei has a decimal counting system with som ‘ten’ from units ranging in 10’s to 90’s. ʤa- is used in counting for 100’s and saŋ- for 1000’s. pa- is the numeral classifier prefixed to 1 till 9, and used for counting numerals only (for money, it is ʧeŋ- attached to these numerals along with 100’s and 1000’s). The data is taken from Haflong (Dima Hasao district, Assam), India. |
