Other comments: Tsou has a decimal system. There are two forms for cardinal number 'one': t͡soni is used to count the numerals for non-human references and serial counting; t͡sihi is used to count the numerals for human. Tsou is spoken by about 4,000 speakers (Zeitoun 2005). Ethnic population: 6,700 (2020 CIP) in Alishan (Mt. Ali) area, Chiayi county, northwest and central part in Kaohsiung county and south central part in Nantou county, Taiwan, |
