Other comments: Teanu or Buma has a decimal system, there are two alternative terms for numerals from 8 and 9. The latter are formed by 10 - 2 'tilu tae' and 10 - 1 'iune tae', respectively. Teanu is spoken by about 800 speakers in Emua, Lale, Lavaka, and Puma villages, Vanikolo island, Temotu province, Solomon Islands. |
