Other comments: Taupota has a traditional counting system based on hand and person similar to that of Tawala. Modern Taupota people have only kept the traditional numerals from one to three now. Taupota is spoken by 4,500 speakers in the Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea. It appears to be a dialect chain, with southern varieties called Wa'ema and western Wedau. |
