Other comments: Tanimuca-Letuama or Tanimuca-Retuarã is spoken by approximately 1,800 speakers out of 1,280 ethnic population in Amazonas and Vaupés departments: Guacayá and Oiyaka rivers (tributaries of the Mirití-Paraná), Apaporis, Mirití-Paraná, and Popeyaca rivers near mouth of Pira river below Popeyaca, Colombia. Retuarã more monolingual than Tanimuca. Tanimuca-Retuarã or Tanimuca-Letuama has a counting system up to 20. |
