Other comments: Sherbro has a traditional quinary-vigesimal system, but nowadays, nobody uses these numbers - everyone counts when the numbers get higher than ten in either English / Krio (v. 'thousand'). The quinary-vigesimal system is what is found in all of Sherbro's closest relatives. Sherbro was once a tonal language but can no longer be characterized as being so. There are some traces of grammatical tone, which exists in related lgs, and some lexical tone, but not enough to make it a truly tonal language. I commented on tone in the grammar but generally do not mark it. Sherbro or Southern Bullom is spoken by approximately 200,000 speakers in Southern province: Bonthe and Mayamba districts; Western Area: Rural district, Benducha, Ima, Nongoba, Ribbi, Shenge, Sicie, and Timdel; southwest coastal areas, Sierra Leone. |

Other comments: Sherbro has a quinary, vigesimal system. 20 is derived from koŋ õ no̠ means ''finished it is man'', 40 is finished men two and 60 is finished men three'', but 70 80 and 90 used the word ''bul'', the meaning of which is unknown. hundreds and thousands are loanwords from English. |
