Other comments: Rapa Nui has two sets of numeral systemsː an old system and a new system borrowed from Tahitian. The old numbers for 'hundred' rau and 'thousand' piere have been replaced by haːnere and taʔutini, possibly borrowed from English with phonological adaptations. Rapa Nui is spoken by approximately 3,600 speakers on Easter Island. |
