Other comments: Nyelâyu or Yalayu or Belep has a traditional quinary-vigesimal system based on 'hands' and 'persons' similar to that of the Kumak language, like most Oceanic Austronesian languages, Nyelâyu has a complicated classifier systems which should be used with a variety of nouns their modified. Nyelâyu is spoken by about 1,900 speakers in Belep island; mainland at Arama, Balade, and Tiari, North province, New Caledonia. |
