Other comments: Niuafo'ou has a decimal system similar to that of Tongan. Niuafo'ou is spoken by about 1,000 speakers in Niuafoʻou island on Tonga's northernmost island. Niuafoʻouan has traditionally been classified as closest to ʻUvean and Tokelauan, in an East Uvean–Niuafoʻou branch. |
