Other comments: Nengone has a traditional quinary-vigesimal counting system with hands and persons. However, they only use traditional numerals 1 to 3 only now, other higher numbers they often use borrowed numerals from English. Note the word 'se-doŋ', 'se' means other, and 'doŋ' means 'abundant'. c=IPA [t͡ʃ]. Nengone is spoken by about 8,000 speakers in Mare and Tiga, Loyalty Islands province, New Caledonia. |
