Other comments: Makuri Naga is a new language recently split from Khiamniungan Naga. Makuri is spoken by approximately 6,500 speakers in Khamti district, Homalin, Lahe, and Layshi township, Sagaing region, northwest Myanmar as well as India.

There are three tone marksː Low, high and falling. Since there is tone sandhi in this language, the tones on the tens change depending on the situation. There is no tone marking on the schwa-vowel [ə], that always is low tone.
