Other comments: Mechuka Memba is a minority language with about 4495 speakers spoken in Mechuka area of Shi-yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh (distinct from Memba of Tuting and Gelling in Upper Siang district). The Membas follow a decimal number system. Dialectal variations can be found among speakers with regard to numerals as some speakers tend to shorten certain forms. There are two linguistically distinct groups living in two discrete locations in Arunachal Pradesh, India that are both referred to as Memba. For a detailed discussion on how the two groups differ, please refer to "Migration narratives, official classifications, and local identities: the Memba of the hidden Land of Pachakshiri".
