Other comments: Maquiritari or Ye'kwana, Ye’cuana is spoken by approximately 6,600 speakers in Bolívar and Amazonas states: Brazilian border area on upper Auaris, Caura, Cuntinamo, Cunucunuma, Erebato, Matacuni, Padamo, mid-Paragua, and upper Ventuari rivers, Venezuela as well as Brazil. Maquiritari or Ye'kwana has a quinary-vigesimal system. Note that: amo or amë= 'hand', amohato or amehato, -hato is a sufix. de'wë or deːwë is postposition means ''upon''. amohadëto de wë toːni is literally ''1 upon 10''. ''hu''=foot, so 15 huhatano could be refer to one foot, -no is a nomalizer. ''soto''=person. and ë = IPA [ə] |
