Other comments: Mangbetu is spoken by approximately 600,000 speakers in Bas-Uele province, Haut-Uele province, and Tshopo province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mangbetu has a decimal systems. The above data were taken from Meje dialect. Mangbetu word for 'ten' looks like a compound of roots for 'arm, or hand'. The higher numbers 100 and 1000 are borrowed from Bantu language. |
