Other comments: Lufu is spoken by a moribund language in 3,200 ethnic population in Taraba state: Takum LGA, Lufu, and Lufu Jauro, Nigeria. Their culture and religion similar to the Jukun Kapya. Language reportedly similar to Bete. Arufu near Wukari have lost the language. Older adults only. Shifted to Jukun Takum. Lufu number system is based on five, the numbers 6-9 are composed of 5+1, 2, 3, 4. Some Lufu numerals are similar to that of Bete language, higher numerals after twenty needed. |
