Other comments: Lenakel has a quinary counting system. There was a recorded phrase for 20 ''ieramim karena rɨka'', which might mean 'one person', but the original was uncertain. Nowadays, they Lenakel people used Bislama numbers after five. Lenalek is spoken by about 11,500 (Lynch and Crowley 2001) in west central Tanna, Tafea province, Vanuatu. |
