Other comments: Krenák is a moribund language spoken by about 10 speakers in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is unusual to count higher than four in Krenák. The number four (inhauit) is used as “many” and “much”, and is mostly used to represent any quantity bigger than four. The fifth number is rarely used between the Krenák people, being reported by only one of the members of the community during my research. The word used for it also means “full” in the language. |
