Other comments: Kowiai has a quinary system. Phonetic representations are similar to Bahasa Indonesia, except that 'f' is labio-dental in Kowiai. r = a flap [ɾ], b= voiced bilabial [b] and c = voiceless affricate [t͡ʃ]. Kowiai is spoken by about 600 speakers in some villages in Bomberai peninsula, Adi islands and some smaller islands in bay, West Papua province, Indonesia. |
