Other comments: Katukína (Catuquina) is a language family consisting of two Brazilian languages, Catukina Kanamari and the possibly dying Catawysi language. It is often not clear which names in the literature are generally tribal names and often correspond to dialects. In fact, they are all so close that some consider them to be monolingual Kanamari dialects (Fabre 2005). Campbell (2012) states that Adelaar "provides reasonably compelling evidence that Harákmbut and Katukinan are genetically related. Katukína has recorded traditional numerals from 1 to 3 only. |
