Other comments: Hulaulá has a decimal system. The Jewish dialect of Hulaulá numbers 1-10 are of invariable form and are not inflected for gender. They derive historically from used with masculine nouns in earlier Aramaic. Numerals 11 to 19 are invariable and derive historically form that was originally used with masculine nouns. The combination of numerals are combined ind descending order, with each item linked by the conjunction, <w>. 45 is ʔarbi-w xamʃa; 123 is ʔəma-w ʔəsri-w-təlhˁa; 1991 is ʔalpa-w ʔət͡ʃˁá-me-w ʔət͡ʃˁi-w xa. Hulaulá or Trans-Zab Jewish Neo-Aramaic, is a grouping of related dialects of Northeastern Neo-Aramaic originally spoken by Jews in Iranian Kurdistan and easternmost Iraqi Kurdistan. Hulaulá is a moribund language and most speakers now live in Israel. |
