Other comments: Hawaiian has a decimal system. Hawaiian numbers hundreds ''haneli'' and thousands ''kaukani'' are borrowed from English ''hundred'' and ''thousand'' with phonological adaptations. Hawaiian (ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, pronounced [ʔoːˈlɛlo həˈvɐjʔi]) is a Polynesian language spoken by about 25,000 speakers in Hawaiʻi, the largest island in the tropical North Pacific archipelago where it developed. Hawaiian, along with English, is an official language of the US state of Hawaii. |
