Other comments: Guajá or Awá Guajá, Ayaya, Guaxare, Wazaizara is spoken by approxiamtely 280 speakers in Maranhão state: Terra Indígena Alto Turiaçu and Terra Indígena Caru, four settlements; Pará state, Brazil. Guajá people are Hunter-gatherers and they have low proficiency in Portuguese. Guajá has only two words for numerals, beyond two they say 'ha'ʔi', which means 'more than two'. |
