Other comments: Fwâi has a traditional quinary /vigesimal counting system based on 'hands' and 'persons'. Nowadays, the Fwâi people may have used French numbers after five. Fwâi is spoken by about 1,800 speakers in east coast of North province, New Caledonia. |
