Other comments: Fanamaket has a decimal system. Fanamaket is a newly discovered language spoken by about 1,000 speakers in Muliama, Sena and Warangansau villages, Namatanai Rural LLG, New Ireland province, Papua New Guinea. 1. Fanamaket has seven vowels: /i, ɪ, ɛ, ɑ, ɔ, ʊ, u /. In the practical orthography /ɪ / is written as <ii> and /ʊ/ as <uu>. 2. Final voiceless plosives are unreleased. |
