Other comments: Epena or Epena Saija, Eperã pedee, Southern Empera is spoken by approximately 3,500 speakers out of 7,000 ethnic population in Cauca, Nariño, and Valle del Cauca departments: 2 separate areas on South Pacific coast, Colombia as well as Ecuador and Panama. Epena Saija had a traditional quinary counting system up 20, however, the native speakers prefer to use Spanish numerals beyond five. |
