Other comments: Lemi dialect of Eastern Khumi Chin has a decimal system. Lemi is newly discovered Chin language related to Mro and Khumi. Lemi has a complicated tone systemː a ˧˩= Low falling tone, a ˩˧= Low rising tone, a ˩˥= Rising tone, a ˥˩= Falling tone, a˨ = Low tone, a ˧ = Mid tone, a ˦ = High tone. Eastern Khumi Chin or Khimi is spoken by approximately 75,000 speakers in Paletwa township, Chin state as well as Buthidaung, Kyauktaw, Maungdaw, Mrauk U, Pauktaw, and Ponnagyun townships, Rakhine state, Myamar. |
