Other comments: Carabayo or Yuri, “Amazonas Macusa” (pej.) is spoken by 150 speakers within 220 ethnic population in Amazonas department: halfway between San Bernardo and Pure rivers. At least 3 long houses, Colombia. The Carabayo or Macú tribe call themselves ''nʉkák'' or '' the people''. Their counting concept is very limited. They have the idea of 1, a pair (2), and lots. They also use their fingers (téi ) to show how many, but it isn't an exact numbers. They are a very primitive tribe and have had no need to have exact numbers beyond a pair (2 ). |
