Other comments: Byangsi has a vigesimal system. Byangsi is a tonal language. Note: <v̀> is a falling tone, and the traditional symbolsː š=IPA [ʃ], c=IPA[tɕ], j= IPA [dʑ], ny=IPA [ɲ]. Byangsi is spoken by approximately 3,000 speakers in Garbyang, Gunji, Nabi, Napalchyu, and Rongkang villages; in Kuthi Yangti river valley in the Himalayas on Nepal and Tibet borders, Uttarakhand state, India, as well as Nepal. |
