Other comments: Bunama has a quinary counting system. Now most of the people preference is to use English numbers. The simple numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 may still be used frequently now. Bunama is spoken by about 4,000 speakers on Normanby island in the D'Entrecasteaux Islands of Papua New Guinea. |
