Other comments: Buduma or Yedina is a Chadic language of the Biu–Mandara branch is spoken by approximately 120,000 speakers around Lake Chad in western Chad and neighboring Cameroon and Nigeria. 200 speakers live in Cameroon, and the rest live in Chad. Buduma or Yedina has a decimal system. There are two sets of numbers for 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90ː the first one is from Kanuri and the second form is a multiplicatory combination. The number 'hundred' is a loan from the Kanuri language and 'thousand' from the Hausa language. |
