Other comments: Baure or Chiquimiti, Maure is a moribund language spoken by 67 speakers out of 980 ethnic population in El Beni department: Iténez and Mamoré provinces, Baures, Huacaraje, Magdalena municipalities, Baures and El Carmen, San Miguel, Tujure, Cairo, Alta Gracia, Jasiaquini, Bereuro, San Francisco, San Pedro, Buena Hora, Las Peñas, and Pueblo Baure villages; between Iténez and Río Blanco rivers, Bolivia. There are only three traditional numbers in Baure. They used Spanish numerals completely. They also invented new numerals in order to make their language "complete", funny story, but nobody has ever used them! |
