Other comments: Traditionally, Walmajarri has three words for numbers. Of course the language terms can be pushed around to suit the western way of being specific by putting the terms together e.g., 4. Kurrinykurriny, 5.kurrinykurrinykayan, 6. kurrinykurrinykurriny etc. I have heard this sometimes but by far the most common way to express numbers once above 3 is with the English number terms. |
