Other comments: Vute has a vigesimal numeral system with special forms for numbers 6, 7 and 9. They borrowed Fulani loan number for 'hundred' and English number for 'thousand'. Vute is spoken by approximately 21,000 speakers in Adamawa region: Djerem and Mayo-Banyo divisions near Banyo and Tibati; Centre region: northeast Mbam division; Upper Sanaga division, near Nanga-Eboko and Mbandjok; East region: western Lom-and-Djerem division, Cameroon as well as Nigeria. |
