Other comments: Viemo has a vigesimal system with special substructure for 8 and 9. It is a little uncertain of the status of what looks like a rare syllabic nasal in numbers 21 to 24. Higher numbers 400 is tãmĩci jumĩ [tãmĩt͡ʃi d͡ʒʷumĩ], 800. tãmĩci jumĩjɔ niinĩ [tãmĩt͡ʃi d͡ʒʷumĩd͡ʒɔ niːnĩ]. Viemo is a tonal language, tone marks will be added after further studied. Viemo is a Gur language spoken in Cascades region and nearby regions, south of Burkina Faso by approximately 8,000 speakers. |
