Other comments: Shanga has a counting system closely related to languages of Busa group. Unmarked vowels above are mid tones. /e/ is the near close near front vowel /ı/. If /ı/ is used, it becomes ambiguous when marked with a suprasegmental. Shanga is spoken by approximately 5,000 speaker in Lopo, Sakace, Kawama, and Sawa villages, within a km of the Niger river, Kebbi state, Nigeria. |
