Other comments: Seeku or Sambla has a a vigesimal system of counting. Note that tə̄gɛ᷆ (meaning originally 'chicken') means 20 in decimal multiples but takes on the meaning of 100 starting at 300. bī (meaning originally 'goat') means 1000 starting at 2000. Minor points on tone and vowel length may be subject to change with further study. Note that Some Seeku numerals are similar to that of Jowulu. Seeku or Sambla is spoken by about 16,000 speakers in Hauts-Bassins region: Houet province, Bobo-Dioulasso department, Bama, Banzo, Bouendé, Karankasso, Tiara, and Torosso villages; Kenedougou province, Burkina Faso. |
