Other comments: Samba Leko has a vigesimal system with a special structure for the number 'nine'. When informant was asked numbers above 100, there was much hesitation. The above data were based on south dialect. Samba Leko or Ndi is spoken by approximately 62,000 speakers in Adamawa state: Jada LGA; Benue state: Kwande LGA; Taraba state: Bali, Donga, and Takum LGAs; five separate enclaves, Nigeria as well as Cameroon. |
