Other comments: Q'eqchi or Kekchi is spoken by approximately 1,3 million speakers in within Qʼeqchiʼ communities in Mexicoː the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Chiapas, mainly in the communities of Quetzal-Etzná and Los Laureles, in the Campeche Municipality and in Maya Tecun II and Santo Domingo Kesté in the Champotón Municipality, state of Campeche, and the departments of Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz in Guatemala as well as in the Toledo District in Belize. Q'eqchi has a vigesimal system. Q'eqchi has recorded traditional numerals from 1 to 6, 9 and 10 years ago, not sure if they are still using traditional numbers after ten or now use Spanish numerals after five or ten. New data for numbers after ten is required. |
