Other comments: Patwin or Southern Wintun is a seriously endangered language spoken by 1 person only (Golla 2011) in Cortina, Grindstone, and Rumsey, California. Patwin ( Southern Wintu) has only kept several traditional numbers. The data was provided by a semi-speaker consultant. There is an obvious pattern based on five, but he did not remember. The additional numerals with an asterisk marks were taken from Dixon & Krorber 1907. As of 2021, there was one documented first language speaker of Patwin. |
