Other comments: Paasaal has a vigesimal system. There are two sets of numbers from 1 to 30; the first one is general way of counting used by the elders, the second one is used by the youth. The number 'thousand' is a loan from English. Paasaal or Passale or Southern Sisaala is spoken by approximately 53,000 speakers in Northern region: West Gonja district; Upper West region, Ghana. |
