Other comments: Buriat or Buryat Mongolian has a decimal system. Buriat Mongolian numeral system is similar to Khalkha Mongolian. However, some numerals of Oirat have different pronunciation for phonetics. For example: Buryat: juhe/n, Khalkh: jese/n, Oirat: jis/n (nine). Buryat and Khalkh dʒara/n, Oirat; dʒir/n (sixty). Buriat Mongolian is spoken by approximately 49,000 speakers in Bulgan, Dornod, Hentiy, Hovsgol, Selenge, and Tov provinces, Mongolia, especially Russian Republic of Buryatia border area. |
