Other comments: Mevembet or Malinguat is spoken by approximately 7,000 speakers in East Sepik province, Ppaua New Guinea. Mevembet or Malinguat has a traditional counting system based on 'five' and 'twenty' similar to that of Iatmul. Number five is 'one hand', means 'and' or 'plus;  ten is 'two hands'.
