Other comments: Mandinka has a decimal system similar to that of Bambara and Sankaran Maninka. Please note that the word 'niŋ' means 'with' and the 'y'=IPA [j]. Mandinka or Mande, Manding, Mandingo is spoken by approximately 2,000,000 speakers in Kolda region: Oussadou area on southeast border with Guinea; Sédhiou region: Casamance river north to The Gambia; Ziguinchor region: south of Casamance river, Senegal as well as Gambia and Guinea-Bissau. |
