Other comments: Makwe (Kimakwe) is spoken by approximately 147,000 speakers in Cabo Delgado province: coast, Tanzania border area south to Quionga and Palma; Ruvuma river area to Pundanhar, Mozambique as well as Tanzania. Makwe has numeral system mixing with some indigenous Bantu numbers with Swahili loanwords. Note that high tones are marked, but low ones are left unmarked. |
