Other comments: Loko or Landogo is spoken by approximately 200,000 speakers in Northern province: Bombali district; Bumpe, Koya, and Ribbi chiefdom areas; Sanda Loko chiefdom, Sierra Leone. Loko has a decimal system with special construction for numbers 6 to 9. The number 9 might be etymologically formed by 'ten minus one'. Noteː 1) sáwá(ŋ)/cáwá(ŋ) are dialectal or sociolectal variants 2) in pairs féé(ŋ)/félé(ŋ), raabu/karaabu, puu(ŋ)/kapuu(ŋ) full forms are used in counting, while short forms are used in NPs and in compound numerals |
