Other comments: Tegem or Lafofa has a quinary-vigesimal system. Tegem is a little-known Niger-Kordofanian language spoken by around 2000 people in Sudan. Tegem people live in eight villages in the Eliri area, of which six are exclusive to them, including Jorrob, Romala, Debbe, Tokoi, Tela and the Lafofa village in the centre of the Eliri hills above Tungaru. There are still some Tegem people at their original settlement Jebel Tekeim1 25km to the east of Eliri (Norton & Alaki 2015:63). There are diaspora Tegem people in other towns in Sudan. Many of them were recently internally displaced due to conflict in South Kordofan and settled in regions such as Elobeid city in North Kordofan State and Khartoum State.
